Subject: Gotta Find My Motivation
I've had a NASTY cold for the better part of two weeks and I'm finally starting to round the corner.  Last night it was raining when I got home, so I planned on doing a trainer ride.  I set my bike up on the trainer, looked right at it, said "Meh"... and proceeded to play Basketball on the Wii.  The excitement just wasn't there.  I haven't been able to run/swim/bike for SO long that I feel like I just fell out of my groove.

Now... I gotta find a way to get back in the groove.

What do you do to get back in the groove after a long break?

I plan out my workouts for the month, or as far in advance as I can, and put it all down on my calendar.  This serves as my to-do list and I'm much more likely to get it done just so I can cross things off!  After a week of that I'm back in the groove.

read these forums
force myself to do it for a week and then I'm usually back in the groove

just accept where you are mentally right now. maybe there's a deeper reason? maybe you have been ignoring other things you love for triathlon? find those things and enjoy them too!!!
