Swimming in Lake Arthur, Moraine State Park ??

Anyone ever swam there for OW practice?  I know there is a protected swim area but that is probably as bad as swimming back and forth in a pool.  Plus I don't know when you are even allowed in the park.  I would prefer my first OWS this year to not be at the swim practice before IMKY.
