Total Time = 1h 11m 45s
Overall Rank = 84/350
Age Group = M25-29
Age Group Rank = 10/33
Pre-race routine:

quick spin on the bike, swim around a bit in the res
Swim
  • 11m 51s
  • 820 yards
  • 01m 26s / 100 yards
Comments:

Water was pretty cold, the warm up helped get used to it bigtime. I started off to the left and went out probably a little too hard. never really made it over close to the bouys, stayed to the left, I think I swam way over the yardage.
What would you do differently?:

swim closer to the bouys
Transition 1
  • 01m 30s
Comments:

Used earplugs on the swim that helped a lot, didn't get dizzy at all coming out of the water.
What would you do differently?:

quicker
Bike
  • 33m 45s
  • 12.4 miles
  • 22.04 mile/hr
Comments:

Not a very good bike, took the whole first lap to get warmed up/settled down from the transition. Seemed like there was a little headwind but others didn't think so. pushed the last lap pretty hard
Transition 2
  • 00m 49s
Comments:

pretty fast transition
Run
  • 23m 52s
  • 3.1 miles
  • 07m 42s  min/mile
Comments:

Run felt painful. started out slow, got to the hill settling in, then got a side stitch after the hill, got it to go away by the turnaround but then got another one towards the top of the next hill, picked it up a bit at the last mile and started to feel a little better
What would you do differently?:

start out a little slower
Post race
What limited your ability to perform faster:

overal fitness needs to be better. being out for the last two weeks with the foot thing and then the motorcycle trip didn't help.

Event comments:

Little dissapointed overall with the race since I did just about the same time as last year, and that was my first race ever. The bike was the weak link, although I was all over the place on the swim it was still pretty quick. Fun racing with the other rmtc peeps and a lot of competition.
