Why is 35-39 such a big group?  212 total.  Oh well I’m a participant not a racier.  Hopefully I’ll meet some of you out there.  Good luck to everyone.

#770 Day Glow Orange for me......I won't be hard to spot, I will be the guy swimming even slower than usual.  I wrecked the bike last Saturday (98 miles into a 100 mile ride) and thought that I had broken my collar bone, but it's just a real nice bone bruise.  Fortunately the bike didn't get more than a little scratched up.

Good luck to everyone this weekend.

I'm #1364, and I'll be wearing the same top I have on in my avatar. I hope to NOT be crying as I cross the finish line like I was last year (and no, they definitely were NOT tears of joy). Yell

I just took a look at the Pro's who are starting at 9am. Some impressive names out there. It should be fun to watch these guys go flying by. The one I recognized the most was Tim DeBoom..2 time Kona Ironman winner.

I just went through packet pickup and it seems like they are more organized for this race than the sprint. They were setup by bib #.. 1-300, 301-600 etc...

They also had the meeting running on a TV at one of the tents. Hopefully that takes the place of attending one of the mandatory ones tomorrow.

Second this - more organized & much faster.  I pretty much walked right up & got my packet.  Yay!

Was the TV meeting the same one posted on the website?  That would be ideal.  It was a pretty good video.

I watched a chunk of it, it seems to be Barry's standard format and content...most of which is also covered in the packet online

Yep, pretty much the standard info. The only new bit I heard was that they've changed the swim course, hopefully to alleviate the blinding swim into the sun. We shall see, I guess!

Glad to hear packet pick-up is much better than the sprint. I expect it to be more crowded tomorrow than today, but if it's better organized to start with, that will be a huge help!

Is the speed limit only on Old Stage or is it also on Lefthand Canyon?

Just on Stage Coach for the speed limit....it's a good idea, too because there is a couple of little technical turns in that area that could really ruin your day if you were going to fast through there....

...are you sure?  I was told the limit was in place for the entire descent to the intersection of HWY36 and Lefthand Canyon?

Nope, it's just a short section of old stage - per the athlete's guide

Hi -
As an ex Coloradoan?, now living in NC, I am considering adding this event to my 2011 schedule.  Can I get some advice from those of you who have done this in 2010?  I'm into my 3rd year of races and doing 2 HIMs and a IM in 2011.  Is this a good race?  I have some family in Denver that would make this a great trip if the race is as good as I've heard so far.

Thanks everyone,
Kurt

It is a really good event, despite being acquired by 'the dark side' (WTC) a year+ ago.  Course is fun, people on course and spectating are very supportive, and the weather's usually fine.  Fills quick though...
