Age Group Rank = 14/34
Pre-race routine:

Got up at 5AM and had a half a bagel with cream cheese and some coffee. Drank water up until about 30 minutes before swim wave.
Event warmup:

not much - swam a little bit just to loosen up
Swim
  • 09m 13s
  • 437 yards
  • 02m 07s / 100 yards
Comments:

Not happy with breathing. Got into a decent groove for the first 100m and then lost form. I did OK, but form was not great.
What would you do differently?:

More rhythmic breathing and more motion side to side on each stroke
Transition 1
  • 02m 39s
Comments:

Probably took too much time getting cycling top and HR monitor on
What would you do differently?:

Need to figure out a way to do this better - maybe bring bucket with water to get sand off feet?
Bike
  • 31m 28s
  • 11 miles
  • 20.97 mile/hr
Comments:

Everything went well - I was definitely in the groove
What would you do differently?:

Perhaps drink a little bit more. I probably should have popped a Gu on the last lap
Transition 2
  • 01m 19s
What would you do differently?:

Not too much
Run
  • 31m
  • 3.21 miles
  • 09m 40s  min/mile
Comments:

HR data was garbage...had no idea what HR was, but could read pace
What would you do differently?:

I maybe should have taken a Gu with me
Post race
What limited your ability to perform faster:

My swim could have been better, my ability to not get gassed so soon and lose proper breathing and form
