Pre-race routine:

Ran on empty stomach, at gym at about 9:30.
Event warmup:

50 yd breast stroke warmup after streaching.

This transition was slow, forgot items in locker and had to re-tie shoes.

Visualize every step prior and make check list on bag, etc.

Had to adjust machine, fumbled with seat height. No cup holder, debated to stop and drink, thirsted instead. Couldn't get machine programmed right and had to reset twice and keep track of data and mileage. What a pain!

Set machine prior to use and verify programming.

Transition hard but not as tough as I thought. Started slow on purpose and spped up as felt good.

Warm down:

Warmdown another .5mi on treadmil steeping down rate until HR under 110, not counted in final time.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Me, I did not want to overdo. Keep it intense but controlled with good form.

Event comments:

FUN, fun, fun! This first time at all three was a blast. Was anxious at the start and boosted energy, swam easy but strong. Learned a lot in T1. Biked well. T2 quick. Run was hard but kept the paced up and finished strong. Can't wait until my next one? Two-weeks maybe ...
