Last week I thanked the forum members for helping me get ready for my first triathlon. I'm back to report that the race was a success.

I entered a complete race report (Castle Rock Triathlon), but briefly I finished 11th of 39 in my age group (35-39) and 51st out of 228 male entrants. My bad-ass Schwinn Super LeTour carried me 16.5 miles at over 21mph.

All in all, it was an awesome experience. My three friends that were "coerced" by me to do this thing (back in March, swilling some suds) all had good races.

As some have sad, they're like potato chips - you can't do just one. I'm already trying to squeeze another one in yet this year.

Thanks again, and hopefully I can occasionally contribute something useful to the discussions.

Maybe you should change your name to Got-tri-done?

Congrats

Here's a newbie question for you - what's a "split"  I've heard it in reference to biking and running but not swimming? What does this mean?

and GitTriDone, CONGRATS on your first tri! I like to hear about people's first tri, it keeps me motivated and keeps me training so I can do my first one.

Nice job!  21 MPH is a solid time for the bike - you were cruising..... good luck in squeezing another race in this summer - plenty of time!
