I am just curious, I have a serious intolerance to wheat, so for the most part everything I eat is Gluten free.
Anyone else use this type to diet by choice or due to a similar intolerance?

Suggestions for carbo loading in the week leading up to an IM or 1/2 IM? I like eating solid foods while racing at the 1/2IM distance, any suggestions on foods that are gluten free with lots of calories?

I don't carbo load, but Rice is a good choice.

There are quite a few companies getting on the Gluten Free bandwagon now.

I will say that although I did NOT like the taste of Cerasport when I tried it before Rev3, I did think it was "good" on course.

There are a few BT'ers that eat gluten-free, and lisac957 is one person that might be able to assist you.
Do a search for "gluten-free" or "gluten free" in the COJ forum and/or TriTalk forums - there have been posts about that (the Search button is at the top of these forum pages, or click on this URL -

Been gluten free for 30 years here.
Tons of gluten free pastas on the market if that's what you're looking for pre-race. Tinkyada brand is my favorite. If you haven't tried Udi's breads or Kinnikinnick bagels/english muffins, both are a must. PF Changs and Olive Garden both have gluten free pastas/menus that are worth looking at.

During races, I use Infinite on the bike (custom blend), GUs on the run. Have used Shot Bloks before. I've also done bars... KIND bar, LARA bar, homemade granola bar (with gluten free oats).

Search the nutrition forum or PM me if you have specific questions... happy to help.

I was recently diagnosed with Celiac so I've been on a gluten free diet since June. At least I try, anyway. There are some great gluten free pastas out there.

I'll be watching this to see how others respond, I'm new to this as well!

I'm gluten-free as well (Celiac, so not by choice).

My favorite carbo-load product is Kinnikinnick's hot dog buns.  They aren't split, so they're like little french bread loaves and they're AWESOME after a toast in the toaster oven.
