Looking for feedback from anyone that has done this event, looks like a great run.  My wife and I are considering it for a weekend away from the grind.  We have done the Boilermaker 15k in NY with 10,000 runners but never a run this big.

Website says first 5000 runners can get seeding but can't tell if the seedings are full or not.

I've done this race many times and am planning on doing it again in 2011. I would definitely recommend going for the best seeding possible otherwise you will be walking/dodging walkers for over a mile before you can get into your own pace. I have seen all kinds of weather for this race from hot and humid to cold, windy and raining. The finale to the course includes the Hart Bridge with the middle of the bridge coming at about the 8 mile mark. The final 1.3 miles is almost all downhill to the finish line. If you finish in the top 10% (gun time) they give you a nice hat indicating you finished in the top 10%. Definitely a race worth doing.

Thanks rgretsof, it may just be C-race...a pleasure run. Not sure if we signed up today if we would get the seeding.  We know the Hart bridge by going to Jaguars games and always thought how much fun it would be to run it!

They have increased the seeded groups so I doubt you would have any problem getting into the one you qualify for. I usually don't send my registration in until January and have always been able to get the seeding.

The qualifying times changed about 2 weeks ago.  I bet the first 5000 slots will start to fill-up fast.  This will be my second GRR.  I'm from Jax Bch. so it's a great reason to go home and see family.  They've changed the 15K course a bit due to construction but I'm sure it'll be a great race anyway.   I love it when a race ends with beer (even if I can't get any)!

Kudos to all the folks that sponsored, helped organize, and volunteered to support this year's Gate River Run.  What a great event.
