Master 2014 Ohio | Subject: 2011 Season-what's your schedule? It is DEAD here in the Ohio forums. This always happens in the winter though. So what is everyone thinking about next years schedule? It'll be Janurary in a few weeks and time to really get on the stick and work off those Christmas cookies. Here's what I'm thinking: Jan/Feb- A local 5k, I've not really decided yet which one, I don't want to run in the snow and ice, I did that once on a 5k race and hated it. Though I did make a snow angel during the race. March- A local 10k. Maybe on on St. Patrick's day. May 20-22- TTT! July 9- The Muncee HIM August 28- IMKY What say you Ohio BTers? What's on tap for you next year? |

Member 221 Lancaster | Subject: RE: 2011 Season-what's your schedule? Tentative thus far but hoping for: May 7- Ohio U tri in Athens June4- Warrior Dash July- waiting to see what the new hfp event is, possibly that. Sept 11- Rev 3 half Oct 2- Maybe Deer Creek sprint depending on how I feel after Rev 3. Is that Muncie half now an Ironman event or are they 2 separate races? |

It's an IM brand. But I typed out "Ironman Muncee 70.3" and felt quite pretentious. It's not an Ironman. It's a half Ironman. But don't get me started. |

Veteran 303 Columbus, Ohio | Subject: RE: 2011 Season-what's your schedule? May - Little Smokies HIM (not yet registered) July - Muncie HIM (not yet registered - I plan to register on Dec. 31st) Aug - IM Louisville (registered) I'll probably end up doing Miami University if my brother does it. This is about half of the races I normally do, but will by far be the most expensive season yet. |

Veteran 145 Gahanna, OH | Subject: RE: 2011 Season-what's your schedule? I'm thinking about: May 22nd - Easton Triathlon (short and close to home for my first one, that way I can crawl home if needed.) June 12th - Wendy's Tri Oct 30th - 70.3 Miami (Not registered yet, still working out some details) That's about all I have lined up so far, still have some voids to fill though. I am going to talk to a buddy that did the Warrior Dash last year, so I might be up for that in June too. |

I'm still working out the details on mine, but here's the rough plan: April 17, 2011 - The hoover hustle 10K ( i did really well at this run last year and want to try and beat my time) Oops, I totally forgot i will be running the Lawrence, KS Half Marathon this day with a friend! May - The indoor tri at Easton June - Warrior Dash June-August - Possibly the Wheelie Fun Sprint Distance series? Just need to get the funds to register. August or September - Try to do my first Olympic distance tri I hope to get a better bike in the early spring/late winter, and then I may feel better prepared in mapping out my full plan. I also plan on being on the boards here more often this year! Edited by mrsbrady 2010-12-20 12:29 PM |

Master 1887 Loveland, Ohio | Subject: RE: 2011 Season-what's your schedule? May - Flying Pig Half Marathon. May - Possibly the half iron distance part of the Triple T. Would probably skip the Pig in that case. July - Some sort of mid-summer sprint. August - I think I'm going Iron!!!!!!!!!!!!! October - Columbus Marathon. I may do the Ironman without doing a half. I think I need to be scared again to get motivated. I'm at half iron distance ready for the run and swim. Would have said that for the bike this time last year, 'cept I've really slacked off that leg of the race, but I've got a trainer this winter. So, I've got eight months to prep and set aside the registration fee for Ironman KY and - most importantly - I already have the full support of my husband. |

Still thinking on it...I thought I had a general idea and I kind of prefer the fly by the seat of my pants method - it worked for me last year - but I did until yesterday have at least a general idea, although I got a call from my Triathlon Dad and he's throwing monkey wrenches, I'll have to come back to this in a while. |

My major concerns are the weather...cold water for the swim and some of the hills on the bike. I have seen various people talk about using tri bike vs road bike, what are your thoughts? Tim |
