Especially after the 'off the wagon' weekend I had. I now have plantar fasciitis which limits what I can do exercise wise. I haven't done anything this past week because the pain has been so bad. I'm headed for physical therapy starting on Thursday for the next 4-6 weeks. My doc also said that I might be able to get the therapist's personal training covered by insurance which would be super awesome! Also, doc doesn't like my running shoes so I'm off to get new ones, hopefully this weekend.

Chatham Ontario | Subject: RE: Team Skinny...Fresh Start Jan. 2011 Jan 5th 216 lbs Jan 12 217 lbs Jan 19 216 lbs Can't shake it Def Plateau LARGE here Been hovering around the 215/216 mark for 6-7 weeks now Minus the spike up to 219 at Christmas. I may have to come to tearms that I won't be able to loose much more until summer comes around and I can get some nice long bike rides in to burn more calories. I don't think I can do much better with food intake. This still puts me at a total loss of 50 lbs and I am very happy with it. And pretty happy to be maintaining it. As a joke I looked at my BMI it says I should weight 143 on the HIGH end of my weight. I can tell you I will NEVER be there I think I would look GROSS at that weight and I can never envision me down that far. Hope everyone else is doing very well too. Spring is around the corner. 6 more weeks and we are into March I see a light at the end of the tunnel for winter. I even get to see a tiny bit of day light on my ride home now. Nice work Funny I hurt my foot somehow on the weekend and I am now limited as well. However It is not the same thing. I have strained it somehow it is slowly getting better with some stretching and rubbing the area and icing. I did get some good tips from a friend. I only have $300 in Physio and Chiro coverage at work, I am trying not to burn it up this early in the year for something I am already seeing progress on the healing. I doubt I am going to be able to run for another 2 weeks or so. which bums me out but maybe it is a sign to hit the weight bench and do some core work this week. Hopefully yours improves and you get the help you need, and use the time to work on other things that don't involve your foot. Keep up the great work. And hey, you have to let go once in a while on a weekend and eat what you want, I think it is hard to have sanity if you don't. |

It was a poor week for me last week - I was out of town, eating out, and wasn't at a place I could exercise. Doing well this week though. Hope to have a couple of pounds off by next wednesday. Keep at it everyone! |

Member 42 Wasaga Beach | Subject: RE: Team Skinny...Fresh Start Jan. 2011 Thanks Chris Todays weigh in: 235 (-2lbs.) Went to a hockey tournament this weekend and couldn't resist the Domino's pizza and Pepsi floating around. I 'm new to the diet game so I guess I'll have to research where to "dine out" so that kind of thing doesn't happen again. I've been baffled by the BMI index as well. My max range is 189lbs and I haven't been there since before college maybe even HS. When I played football I got down to 210lbs. I wonder how much muscle mass I would have to lose to reach even the max of my range. And how sensible would it be to lose muscle mass seeing as it is essential for fat loss. Confusing. Anyways looking for big numbers next week, no distractions upcoming .. lol. Glenn |

Regular 103 Alameda, CA | Subject: RE: Team Skinny...Fresh Start Jan. 2011 Hey everyone, sorry I didn't post last week. Normally when I don't check-in it is because I wasn't too happy with my weigh ins which is counter productive to the support aspect of the thread. Because of that I'll make sure to post anyway for the support. My training has been going great, I have completed all of my planned workouts for the 20 week HIM plan. And my eating is normally okay, but the 2-3 nights a week and the 1 day on a weekend where I let it slip is where I see my weight staying the same. It doesn't feel like I overeat, but my choices are pretty poor. In either case, I weighed in at 242, which is a 1 lb increase over the past 2 weeks. I really have to drill down the evening eating. If I can do that, I am positive the fat would be flying off from all of the training I am doing each week. I'm also headed on vacation for a week, going to Hawaii. If I can weight in next week with an even score or hopefully a 1lb loss I will be a very happy individual. I hope to be able to indulge in the food I normally eat in Hawaii, but restrict myself on portion sizes to keep my calorie intake in check. That's the plan. Have a great week, I'll check in next Wednesday. |

Chatham Ontario | Subject: RE: Team Skinny...Fresh Start Jan. 2011 Great work eveyone. good job checking in Jordon regarless. I was just like you. I would always eat fairly well all day long and just totally fall apart at night. I mean a big bag of chips is perfectly fine to ingest at night right? hahah.. Really this isn't a DIET it is a lifestyle change. And if you follow it right you will find you can actually EAT MORE as long as you choose the right things. Dominos pizza. First YUK not a fan of that. But I do love my pizza. I just have to dial it back to 1 or 2 slices. My wife and I used to order a large each drill 4 pcs in us me sometimes 5 and have a bit of left overs. Funny the once every 2 months we get a pizza now we get a small each have 2 pcs max and have a salad with it. Ok I have the salad my wife not so much. But I do love veggies more then her. She is like a little kid I have to sneak them into. Stay checked in. Don't get discouraged on weeks you don't loose. You all have pointed out reasons why and those weeks/days will happen. You still have to enjoy life a little. But just in a more controlled fashion. Now if you can all teach me to take my own advice and stop freaking out over the fact I can't seem to drop another pound after pulling off 50 pounds in 8 months and now being stuck... You would all get an award. |

So I have cut out my two trigger foods, chocolate and cookies...but I miss my treats :-( Pathetic, I know but I cant help it. To gently wean myself off the "hard stuff" I have switched to fruits for my dessert after lunch/dinner. But my problem is I miss the texture of the cookies and chocolate (usually I have something like crunch, kit kat or twix). So I need something thats crunchy but healthy. So does anyone know of a healthy option that can give me that crunchy texture??? Thanks for your help. I don't know how healthy they are (should be better than cookies or chocolate), are Rice Cakes. http://www.quakeroats.com/products/rice-snacks/rice-cakes/apple-cinnamon.aspx There's a link to some Quaker Oats branded ones. They would have that "Crunch" that your looking for. Thanks for the advice. I have had those before and they definitely do the trick. I also tried 1/2 cup of plain greek yogurt and sprinkled crunchy granola on top. For some reason, that did it :-) and it was REALLY good. Now I am on the quest to find a crunchy granola bar that isnt too high in sugar. Any ideas? |

And given the three day weekend and all the additional eating that snuck in (when I am at work, I am so much more disciplined since I only eat what I bring and I only bring healthy meals/snacks at the appropriate portions) and the chinese food break I took from my healthy eating, the fact that I lost anything is GREAT! Now I am back on track, looking for healthy recipes including things like healthy homemade pizza, healthy sweet(ish) snacks, etc, so I have NO EXCUSE for unhealthy eating. My goal for this month is 170 and dangit, I WILL get there :-) |

Member 42 Wasaga Beach | Subject: RE: Team Skinny...Fresh Start Jan. 2011 Heya. Todays weight: 233.5 down 1.5lbs. Its funny how much, for me, this is a mental exercise as it is a physical one. Last week I was so disappointed with 2 lbs. loss I looked for excuses and found blame. This week I'm happy with 1.5 lbs. knowing that I'm working towards finding the right balances that'll maintain this downward trend. Weird. Anyways, good luck to all, see ya next week! Glenn |

I am supprised by the half pound really. I bet it is muscle. Went from working out 400 mins a week to working stupid hours and eating like crap Mid day Wed and I already have 44 hours of work in this week, not including sunday. Next 1.5 weeks will be 90-100 hour work weeks. I am bummed, sick of winter, sick of work and sick of being at 215lbs for 2 months now after 7 months of nothing but progress. BLAH had enough bring on spring time and normal work hours. |

I want to weigh in on the 31st and see if I can get down any more. I haven't really done anything in the gym which is a disappointment. I just can't seem to get motivated with this stupid foot injury. I also can't get motivated to get up in the mornings to get to the pool either. I think part of it is work stress because I'm super frustrated and when I get done with work, I just want to go home and veg on the sofa. The good news is I can no longer eat fast food without getting sick Oh yeah, and I'm headed to Phoenix next week where it's in the 70s! |
