Was out riding yesterday and had hoped to ride the SRT for a bit. Took Conshohocken State Rd from Lower Merion to the SRT. Went north a bit but didn't get far due to ice and slush. Turned around and headed south towards Manayunk but same thing; ice and slush.

Any other trail reports?

No other reports but thanks for posting this.  I was going to drive by tomorrow morning on my way to a job meeting to see what the conditions are.  By the looks of the weather this week, the trail should be good by the weekend.

Still looked very slushy yesterday at area between Betzwood and Oaks along 422.  I think we have a few days of 50+ degree weather, which might help, but I seem to remember the wooded areas around Betzwood and the Audobon Loop keeping snow for a while after the other areas had melted.

I did a drive by today and Oaks and Pawlings were clear but for the long strips of refreezing run off.  But right after Pawlings in the heavily shaded fenced portion was still chock full o ice.  The next couple of days look warm enough that we should be good by the weekend.  Last time I was there was a few days after the 12"-18" we got.  My buddy and I went for a run with Yakrax.  Epic fail.  We ended up running around the dump and expo center for 90 min.

UPDATE 2/20

Rode from Shawmont to Phoenixville; all clear of ice and snow. Some tree debris in Valley Forge but nothing major.

I'm really hoping this storm misses us.  It's looking good so far.

So much for the storm missing us - there was 4" at my house...that's why they invented screw shoes, mountain bikes, and tech clothing. I put some good tunes on and imagine how hot it must be to run on the Queen K, and it evens out. No matter how cold or wet, it's still better than the trainer or the dreadmill.

Funny you mention the freezing runoff -- one time last year I came out of the powerline Right of Way onto the trail on my mountain bike right where you were talking about, and it was a sheet of ice. I did a [not-so-graceful] clipped in slide across and down the trail for like 20 yards much to the astonishment of some poor runner. Only good part is that there's no road rash when you slide on ice...

Today was just patches of slush and and inch or so of snow mostly so not so bad.

I think I know the 20yd section of re-freeze you are talking about!  I ran around it a couple weeks ago.  Skidding with no road rash is like going to Atlantic City and only losing 40 bucks.
