Subject: Road Bike Rentals?

Does anyone know where to rent a road bike in London, Ontario or a city close by?  My husband wants to attempt a Tri this season but doesn't want to invest in a bike if he finds he doesn't like it.

Any suggestions???

Does he have a bike, like a mountain bike or hybrid?  Most try-a-tri and sprints races will allow you to use any kind of bike.

I would ask the guys at Multisport Zone.  I know that they had a rental program last summer for youths, perhaps they could do something for your husband.  Another idea - he could buy a used road bike?  I'm guessing the cost of renting for the season would end up costing the same as buying a used road bike.  If he likes, he can probably turn around and sell the bike for most of what he paid for it next year and get a better bike, or use it as a second bike.

How long is he looking for?  Does he need a bike to train on or is it just for a race?

He's looking for a bike just for the race weekend (June 11).  He is going to train on a mountain bike and indoor bike since he is new to the sport.  Obviously training on the bike you will use is best but for his first race attempt he's not too concerned.

And thank you all for your suggestions.  I will try Multisport.  If not I'll look at slicks for his mountain bike and hope he likes it enough to later invest in a road bike.
