So I was supposed to go for an easy, long ride this morning but that didn't happen.  My wife was on call at the hospital and of course just as I was ready to go on me ride she was called in.  Every single time, man.  So that leaves me alone with my two year old daughter.  On to plan B.

Time to break out my old heavy MTB, the Chariot, and we're off.  I thought I would go easy until a few couples on road bikes passed me about 2miles into my ride.  Then my competitive side took over and I decided to pace them.

Problem is that I seemed to have forgotten that I was on my 35lb MTB, pulling my 27lb daughter who was riding in her 25lb Chariot.  So much for my easy ride.  I always forget to pace myself.

Still kept up with those road bikers though!Sealed

LOL.

You need a trainer set up in front of 'The Wiggles' or whoever/whatever the new show is that can captivate a two year old these days (my kids are a little older now 8,8&10 but I still have to resort to my trainer for convenience).

Ha.  I think I'd rather suffer as a sherpa on a bike than subject myself to Yo Gabba Gabba while spinning to nowhere on a trainer.  Those kids songs they sing are the worst!

That's some great training. My kids have outgrown first the chariot, and now the trail-a-bike. Now I have to slow to their pace and without the extra work out.

When I have kids, I'll just turn off my cochlear implants, and I'm deaf. No worries about hearing annoying kids songs...however, If I start singing "This is the song that never ends..." (Lamb Chop Playalong song)...oy. :-)

It's these times I'm just glad that I have the ability to turn on and off my "ears". lol

Yeah, Had to get a mountain bike just to deal with the wind and hills in southern Utah. I agree that it is great training. Only wish we had a garage instead of tarps under snow to keep them. I need to replace the windscreen bc it is getting close to 2000 miles on it. The worst is a flat though, I never seem to have the right tubes and stuff when I am out for forget to put new ones in there. Slime works really well on them though.
