Subject: Left Knee pain

First HIM coming up.

I finally switched to aero bars.  I did my first real long bike (57) with the aero bars on this past Saturday.  Felt great the first 35 miles set PR's through out died a little between 40 and 55.  Ran an hour after finishing the ride.

My thighs were real sore right after the ride/run but recovered nicely by the end of the day had only a little soreness left.  However, when I woke up the next morning the back of my left knee is sore now.  No sharp pains just very sore and only in the left knee not the right.

Is this normal or something I should be worried about?  I did have to change my seat set-up to accommodate the aero bars.  Does my body just need to get used to the new set-up or did I change the seat too much?

Pain in the back of the knee usually happens when your seat is too high.  And no I'm not making a BT joke about it.

Not sure if bike fit effected it, but if its kind of an achey, almost "tight", feeling it could be a strained ACL.  I did it MANY times playing soccer/running track/down ski racing.  Ice, watch for inflamation, and STRETCH.

I have experienced a very similar issue.  Went and saw a fitter and he's got me trying some new shoes.  So far, they seem to be helping. It's only been a few days, but my knee used to hurt every time I got off the bike.

The knee pain happened right after my first long ride with aero bars.  Took a couple days to go away.  I've only been using aero bars for two weeks on shorter rides.  Its gone now.

I'm just wondering if its me getting used to the aero bars or the bike fit.

thanks for all the responses.
