Just do it and you will be glad with the results....I went from having long hair (for a guy) to trimming my own with a #1.

So much easier, you dont need to think about your hair, no swim cap, one pass of the towel and is dry and so much easier with those long runs.  Plus you can do it at home, and you save money.  Invest in a good set of Hairclipplers, between $25 and $30, no need to spend more.

Why do you think that you won't have to wear a swim cap for your race?

I believe that the cap is always required... it helps the safety folks to see you and is often used to distinguish starting waves.

I'm sure he is refering to the swim cap for training at the pool.   It is always required at the races.
