Hey folks - HFP Racing and roll: bike shop are putting on a series of 3 clinics leading up to the new Giant Eagle Multisport Festival. The first one is this Sat., 5/28, from 10 - 12 at the roll: on Lane Avenue.

The focus for this clinic will be on the race details, some tri basics and answering any questions. We'll also offer a one day race registration discount to those that come by. Hope to see you then.

When are the other clinics and are they on the same topic?  I'm on vacation and won't be back in town to make in for the first one

There will be a clinic in June and one in July. I don't have the exact dates yet, will post when I do. Each clinic will be different and each will feature different athletes presenting. We're hoping to get a pretty high level pro for the July clinic. Check out the GEMF facebook page to hear it first.

Also each will be at a different roll: location. I believe June will be at Easton and July at Polaris.

Is anyone else really excited about this race?  When I first started looking into it I thought it was about the coolest option around this summer.  I guess it is new so it doesn't really have a history yet.  A point to point Sprint/Olympic finishing downtown sounds like it should be an exciting day...plus the bike course goes right past my neighborhood (Clintonville).  Yeah!!!

I certainly am.  It will be my first swim bike run triathlon and it ends downtown in my neck of the woods so it's perfect.  The logistics may be the only part I'm not looking forward to.

Hey guys, thanks for coming out. What did you think? Was it worth it, helpful?

Tracy had a lot of great things to say but I think for the number of first timers in the audience, she might of catered it a bit better.  I get the feeling that quite a few of the people in the audience are going to think they need tons of equipment when you really only need 4 things for your first tri:  Swim suit, goggles, bike/helmet and shoes.  Newbies don't need fancy shoes or disc wheels, aero helmets or even tri bikes.

It was great hearing about her nutrition plan and how her training varies through out the year.

I was also glad to see that zip makes wheels for us 650cc kids!  I didn't know that was even an option...not that I have extra cash lying around to buy new wheels!
