Great news, nails!

Really thrilled with how this challenge has shaped up ... everyone participating, training, Southerners trying to slingshot past the Northies

PM'ed with suzielea and she was sick for 11 days, so her goal is being reduced proportionately.

I should come out nicely ahead on bike and maybe somewhat short on swim. A bit sick right now but hopefully it's minor and will pass.

I'm going away with the family for a bit and won't probably have internet access after today until next Monday so if it gets close, hold off until I can get my results in.  Got a few good days with lots of swims and rides planned coming up that will get me close to the 100% mark.

Bed and dresser were delivered today and I couldn't be happier!!  I still have a ton of clothes to put away and now reorganize the closet.  I think I'm adding a couple loads of laundry and mopping the floors to the list of things to do as well.  I'm also going to pick up my dad's birthday present and getting a bike ride in and going to a class at the gym with my sister... busy day off but it should be fun!

Oh come on... now I go to put in my last swim workout for the month (Friday is a rest day) and I've exceeded both of my goals for the month only to find that the North Team is leading by 1/10 of 1%???  78.5% to 78.4%!!!

Maybe tomorrow is not a rest day for me although with the 110% goal cap I only have 9% left before I hit the limit in both events.  Come on North Team, let's finish this off!!!

The gap has slightly improved now to 0.6% (79% - 78.4%). Hopefully I'll be able to get a swim in tonight but since I'm feeling slightly stuffy I might have to miss it

I will for sure get one more swim in meeting my goal and will do my best to squeeze in a 9th!!

The end is nigh!

What an exciting race this is turning out to be!

I'm not so excited for myself, though ... NOT a minor illness and got significantly worse, with fever/chills, headache, and some nasty GI issues better left undiscussed. Going on my fourth day sick here

I got my last swim in before Saturday's Olympic.  1,200 LCM.  Exceeded both my goals! Whoop!!

As for the Captain of the Southies, feel better chica!  Hopefully the rest of Team South will pull out an epic come from behind win for you.

Didn't put contacts in this morning and forgot my glasses so spent the first part of the day straining my eyes at work (funny how I never noticed until I got my glasses how much I strain to read) so now I have a headache.  Home now so I'll go put my contacts in... hope that makes my headache go away.  Got a bike session planned tonight and maybe a Jillian Michaels Yoga DVD.

OK North Team.  I'm all done and came up a bit short.  I included the miles I will be riding during a metric century into my goal.  Unfortunately, the metric century is on Saturday.  Doh!  If I take those miles off my goal, I hit 100%.  Yay for me!

Got another hour each of swim and bike last night to make it 7 out of 8 swims, and 6 out of 8 bikes. I was banking on Wednesday being able to knock 1 each out, but had an allergy attack of my life. I took a allergy med that was like a horse tranquilizer. I could not move after I took it. My 10 year old boy had to watch over his 5 year old sister for an hour till my husband got home. So, I was in no shape for working out. OI!

I MAY get another bike in if this rain keeps up. means I can hit the gym tonight because youth soccer practice will be called off. We'll see.

I'm trying!!

ETA: I've lost 3 pounds this last week with all this activity. Cool

Sorry Northies, but I had to miss both my swims this week due to illness which leaves me 3 short (missed 1 due to bad planning on my behalf). At least I managed to get an extra bike ride in, but it only takes me to 107% compared to the dismal 75% swim

Sorry I've been MIA...  It's been a bad few weeks.  Allergies (plus I don't think the one swim I did helped) kicked off a nasty sinus & ear infection.  Which ruled out swimming for a little bit whihc I had hoped to pick back up at the end of the month.  Now the problem is hubby gave me strep and I just don't have the energy to flail around the pool...  Never mind the issues with my daughter and the stupid dentist.  Grrr...      Embarassed

OK, last of the swim yards are logged for the month.  I came up a few hundred short of my goal for swimming.  I got to the pool when it opened this morning but only had time for 1000m. I may get 1-2 hours on the bike trainer tonight...all depends on how the work day here goes.  The unexpected business trip really threw a monkey wrench in my planned workouts.

I offer my mea culpas to Team North.

Congrats to everyone on both teams.  Reading through this thread, most all of us found ourselves in a situation where we pushed to get in a workout when we otherwise wouldn't due to this challenge.  Great work.

***IF YOU WERE ILL, INJURED, HAD EMERGENCIES, OR GOOD REASONS FOR MISSING DAYS***

Method 1 = subtract the workouts you had planned for those days from your goal(s).

-OR-

Method 2

A. take the number of days you had to miss workouts and divide that by 30.

B. multiply number A by your goal.

C. Subtract number B from your goal.

The last four days of this Challenge I have been flat-out sick, as in, not even able to walk down the street ill. So here is my example (for swimming):

Swim Goal: 100,000m

A. Days sick: 4/30 = 0.1333

B. Multiply 0.13 x 10,000m = 13,333

C. 100,000 - 13,000 = 86,667 (modified goal)

Just finished my final swim session, didn't make it over my goal but at least I hit it! This was a GREAT challenge. I have my first duathlon tomorrow and thanks to this challenge I will feel totally comfortable on my bike.

Hope to see you all over at the October RUN challenge!

Yay! Whether the South has risen again or not, I am not personally the Biggest Loser this month!!!

We'll give everyone 'til the end of Monday to waste valuable work time by logging their workouts on the spreadsheet so we can declare a winner and hound the losers to change avatars to something swim or bike.
