Anyone know anything about this Kerrville Tri.  Also, any good Sprints around Central or South TX.  Doing Dillo.  Others?  Nursing an ankle back into shape.

I'm in for kerrville but it's the inaugural race so I'm not sure what to expect. Has anyone else done any events put on by high five events?

Im wondering about the Hills also.  The Small Texan in Berne was extremely hilly.  I was not prepared and had a bad run.

High Five did the Austin Avia tri on Labor Day.  They were great.  Very organized, very on top of things.  They even managed to have the temperature drop about 10 degrees to bring it to the 90s.  Food was great.  Expo was great.  Announcing was great and the awards were cool.  I can't believe they couldn't calm the wind Laughing

I've done many from High Five (associated with Jack and Adams somehow) and they do good races.

I am doing the Kerrville HIM and the bike and run elevation are very reasonable.  They redid the route from very hilly.

This is the HIM bike route with elevation http://www.mapmyfitness.com/routes/view/49798904

I'm doing the Half.  Not too many waves but I really can't tell how many people are actually going to be racing.

Good luck to all this weekend.

Good luck I hope it is not hilly.    The Dr. has gounded me from running for 3 weeks.   Hopefully the ankle will get better.

Kerrville is a great down.  In the heart of the hill country.  Vist Los Maples St Park, Enchanted Rock.

I did the Half and I thought the swim was great, the bike course was pretty good with some rough roads, but the run was terrible. Four loops is an absolute beating and at least 40% of the course was off road. I could probably live with the four loops if the entire course was on the roads. I would not do this race again simply because of the run course. I also think the run course was around a 1/2 mile long, based on my Garmin.

I heard from someone else that the chipseal was really heavy.  Didn't hear that the run course was long - that's the last thing you want after getting shaken up on the bike for 56 miles!  Good job pressing through it!

I did the half as well and thought the event was great overall, other than the run course.  My garmin also came up with the extra half mile on the run as well.

x3 on the extra half mile on the run course (also mentioned by a couple of others at the event). And yep, that off-road trail made things a little tougher.

Overall, though; I thought that High Five Events/Jack and Adams did their usual great job, especially for the first year. I'm sure they'll take all feedback into account and make whatever improvements they can. The Kerrville community seemed pretty excited about putting on the race, and volunteers were awesome : )
