Swim
Comments: Had a few minutes of "that panic feeling" at beginning of race (altitude is about 7000 feet..) slowed down and just tried to find rhythm What would you do differently?: train harder on swim...more laps, more often Transition 1
Comments: just went easy...calling this whole tri a "training triathlon" Bike
Comments: flat tire, rims hot, last ride on 13 yr old hard tail Trek 930 What would you do differently?: train more at altitude and more at lactic threshold Transition 2
Run
Comments: See course description Post race
Warm down: walk around...saw Uva from the Hospital. walked to car..got some freebies..hand outs, mini Clif bars, etc What limited your ability to perform faster: Poor training, not enough training Last updated: 2005-08-19 12:00 AM

breakfast cereral/ toast. No food 2 hours prior to race. Found this works better for me. Can't be eating "goo, or downing Cliff Bars just prior to race" If I eat to soon before race I get side ache. I think I swallow a lot of air while swimming. Drove up to Snow Valley by myself. Both training partners backed out of race
Rode bike around parking lot. Ran 2-3 mins. Had to ride uphill aprrox 2 miles to start of race. Swam in lake for 5-10 min. easy
