Swim
  • 15m 13s
  • 600 meters
  • 02m 32s / 100 meters
Comments:

I had a good clean swim and avoided contact fairly well. I felt sluggish getting out of the water and got passed a lot headed to T1.
What would you do differently?:

Run harder to T1.
Transition 1
  • 00m
Comments:

Went faster this time, sans gloves.
What would you do differently?:

Shoes on pedals.
Bike
  • 44m 13s
  • 10.7 miles
  • 14.52 mile/hr
Comments:

Climbing one hill after another left me with dead legs for the run. I usually power down hills but was out of gas about halfway around so I just coasted the downhills.
What would you do differently?:

Come fitter and lighter.
Transition 2
  • 00m
Comments:

I was fast in T2. I had a number belt for the first time and it helped. Also my rack spot was near the exit of T2.
What would you do differently?:

Nothing it went quick.
Run
  • 39m 34s
  • 3.1 miles
  • 12m 46s  min/mile
Comments:

I went allright for the first half a mile but then I felt tired and it was all I could do to keep running. The turn around was on a long shallow hill that hurt because I was so tired. There was also a good hill just before the downhill to the finish. I never stopped running but a women was speed walking at the same pace beside me up that last hill. Some guy from the novice wave caught me (5 minute start difference) as we both sprinted for the finish.
What would you do differently?:

Drink more, I probably was bonked the whole run.
Post race
Warm down:

None, I took a shower at the bathhouse facility and changed.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Overweight and not prepared for the hilly terain.

Event comments:

I will probably do this race again, and will be better prepared.
