Subject: Sore muscles
Hi,
I just had my first 5k on friday and my mucles are still a little sore. I rode about 16 miles today at 12.5 mph. How does everyone deal with the soreness?

Eventually, your muscles will get used to it (somewhat). I try to flush the lactic acid the same day; if I run in the a.m., I'll bike in the afternoon (slightly higher RPM). Hot tubs and/or massages work well, too!

And don't forget the recuperative properties of chocolate!

enough water to float yourself!

Soreness is part of it all - flushing it away with water, taking some advil, and stretching will take care of regular muscle soreness. If you need more -find a good sports massage person.
