So, got a trainer today, RealAxiom V2 from Performance, do you dress in full bike clothing when riding a trainer or just do bike shorts and T-shirt etc?

People have been known to train totally naked ........

Me? Bike shorts and a t-shirt. Sometimes gloves for those epic 2+ hour training rides indoors.

Something on your head helps to keep the sweat from dripping all over the frame as well (cycling cap or bandana).

I go for shorts, sometimes my running tights since my butt is used to the seat I don't really need the padding, and a t-shirt or running singlet, or no shirt. I think I've only worn gloves once and I keep a towel and the remote for the tv on a chair next to me.

Don't forget your helmet though. I fell off once...

That's cuz you're one of those wussy flat-land riders that doesn't do enough hills!

Bike shorts and either synthetic t-shirts or older jerserys that are now too big. I've tried regular cotton t-shirts and they just sag too much when they get wet.

I don't even dirty up a sports bra. Not a lot of bouncing happening on my trainer.

I hit my trainer first thing in the morning. I usually where a) whatever I wore to bed the night before, or b) my husbands dirty shirt from the day before if it is on the top of the laundry pile. I always wear padded capris or shorts, depending on the temp in the house. My butt always hurts more on the trainer than it does on the road.

Just bike or tri shorts and a sport bra. I always get so warm on the trainer, so it putting on all my cycling gear would be too much.

I get on my trainer in this room we don't heat, so there have to be clothes. But - this is probably gross - I may wear them more than once for this purpose. I'm going straight to the shower afterward, no one's around to smell me - who cares??

Lara - 2005-12-06 8:06 PM running tights or shorts if its less than an hour..  bike shorts if it's an hour or more..  skip the jersey..  just the running bra if its warm (and raining) a dri-fit long sleeve tee if it's cool (and raining)

Isn't it always raining in Oregon? Wink

full gear including long sleeves and in front of the running dryer - lots of humidity and no fan - even in the summer. Heat acclimation :-)
