Hello everyone,
I am looking at the Olympic 13 week training schedule and I need some help.
At the end of the 13 weeks it doesnt show a taper in there. How do you taper or how long before your tri??

Hi and welcome!  Taper over the last week.  Do some easy workouts and rest for 1-2 days prior to the tri.  Good luck!

I agree with COgirl but, oddly enough, everybody tapers differently. Some races I taper a full week, some races a half week. I never rest two days back to back in a taper week, but I certainly might take two days of rest, just with very light workout days between them. You kind of have to play with it. I like to rest completely the day before any race, but others will tell you to run, bike or swim lightly the day before. The answer is insideof you.

regarding a taper, reduce your volume but maintain the frequency is a good rule of thumb...so your total hours will decrease anywhere form 30-50% for the taper week but u will still be out the same number of times - so u wont lose the 'feel' for race day.  of course taper week is where u can combine some of the shorter workouts for bricks too.

good luck.
