Swim
Comments: Short 400 yard swim - there was a 20 second interval between starts, so crowding was not an issue. I felt good throughout. Transition 1
Comments: smooth transition - My bike was on the end of the rack, so my stuff was easily accessible Bike
Comments: I didn't get on the bike much at all in the early spring so I'm a little out of shape. I pushed myself a little bit harder to keep a decent pace. crouse passed me at around the 9 mile point. Transition 2
Comments: approximate time. Run
Comments: This was the first time I have run much distance on grass. It was harder than I had imagined. My pace was slow. I caught up with crouse in T2, and we ran together for the first mile or so. The hills were not long, but they were steep. I had to walk up the last big hill at around the 2.5 mile point. What would you do differently?: No surprise - I really hadn't gotten in enough run time prior to the race. I also pushed myself a littl on the bike and I was tired. Post race
Warm down: Fruit & Bagels What limited your ability to perform faster: Not enough running Not accustomed to running on the grass. Hills! Last updated: 2006-04-22 12:00 AM

Signed in, set up, stretched, walked around. The race start was delayed about 15 minutes due to dense morning fog. (In fact, I drove past the venue twice because I couldn't see the signs). I got to meet BT member crouse who was doing his first triathlon.
