Looks like the dates are up on the main page but not yet updated when you open the specific race.

Orillia is a month earlier and Belwood is gone.  Looks like this is probably die the the 1/2 and full in Tremblant.  Too bad, I liked the old schedule better.

RIP Belwood. I will miss you
It's been my "A" race the last two years and my best results have come from that course. I am not happy with this..

With the two schedules out it looks like the Milk series will be getting most of my attention next season.

RIP Belwood.  Looks like I may only do Milton and maybe Niagara with the subaru series this year (unless I get wind that they repaved the bike course for Guelph Lake).

Here's an ugly google maps map showing the 3 big series' 2012 schedules in Ontario as of right now:

Hey, I really like that map, gives a good perspective on where the races will be held.  I'll likely still do Milton or Guelph, Orillia, perhaps Peterborough, and hopefully Muskoka.  I'd really like to consider doing some of the more northern MSC ones, but I'm not sure how they'll fit - problem with those is it requires an overnight.

Muskoka is also a month later.

I wonder if some of the shuffles are due to the Toronto 5150 race.

Edit: and the date or Day of week for Guelph II is wrong.

Have looked at my schedule and it looks like the new date of Orillia fits for me.  Had been looking for something for the end of July and as a location to get to Orillia suits me pretty well.

Great map! The Huronia race is now part of our series and is on July 7/8th. Thought you might like to know.

John Salt - 2011-11-15 4:49 PM Great map! The Huronia race is now part of our series and is on July 7/8th. Thought you might like to know.

Where is huronia?  Barrie?  I can't find a city name or map or address on the race page, and all I know is that Barrie and Peterborough were both in the "Huronia region" when I did club swimming.

Muskoka is also a month later.

Edit: and the date or Day of week for Guelph II is wrong.

I don't think Subaru is quite done updating their site.  If you click on many of the races, they give last year's dates, which is probably where my muskoka date came from.  The muskoka page says June 25/26, but the sidebar thingy says July 22.  And as you point out, the GL2 date is wrong on both the sidebar and main page.

I updated with a corrected date for Muskoka, a guessed date for GL2, and I'm waiting on John to help me out with my Ontario geography.

Penetanguishene is correct. The race started in Midland over 20 years ago. Information on last years race is at http://www.huroniatriathlon.com/. We will be adding an Olympic Distance Tri and International Du on Saturday this year. We are confident that the Olympic Tri/International Du will be one of the prettiest bike courses in Ontario.

I was looking forward to that long course race aswell. First Belwood and now this?

I've lost faith in the Subaru series.

Usually by this time of the year I have my whole season planned but 2012 isn't looking all that happy.

I'll do the Welland HIM in June and hopefully K-Town will be available but I can't find any olys in August of interest - maybe Somersault's 1000 Islands.  The feedback I've heard wasn't great.  Maybe just stick to sprints and the season ends earlier for me.   Disappointing.  I liked Belwood and Cobourg towards the end.

You might consider the Bracebridge Oly. There was a great and positive response on 2011.

Very true!  Lots of options if you want to go north - but traveling back to the city on a Sunday during the summer is not my idea of fun   2 hours can easily turn in to 4 - especially on the 400S

I might try Wasaga this year.  I've heard good things about it too.

I can't do any of the two Guelph Lake tris this year. If I could, I would only do them if they repave the bike course.

I may do Milton and 5i50 Muskoka.

The athletes love the finish on Beach Dr beside the water in Wasaga. Usually a few hundred or more spectators lining the Finish Chute. From everything the athletes have told us, they love this race. Remember it has sold out for the past two years.

I wouldn't mind doing this race but I'm curious as to why there's an olympic distance for the triathlon but none for the duathlon. Being a duathlete (for now until I figure out this swimming thing) this kinda intrigued me.

The honest answer is that, in our experience, there are not that many duathletes interested in this distance and we have a limited amount of space for this capped race. This is coupled with the fact that, if we are going to put on an International Duathlon, we believe you should do it properly, which means 10/40/5, not 5/40/10. Our philosophy is to deliver races which are executed in the proper order for each discipline. We won't change the race order to accommodate our logistics. Given that there are a good number of logistical changes you need to make (crew, volunteers, aid stations etc.) to accommodate a 10k run to start, we need to have a reasonable number of athletes competing.

I hope that answers your question.

I love my Somersault Series...but what about a Subaru race east of Peterborough?

Is Tremblant the answer?
