Subject: Evening Rides on the SRT (Phila. Western Suburbs)
I know it is cold and dark, but I lack shower facilities at work and so need to ride afterwards. Anyone out there interested in mounting lights, putting on cold weather gear and going for some moderately paced (16-17 mph) evening rides on the SRT starting from Conshohocken? I'd love to incorporate some intervals too. I just can't bear the thought of being inside on the trainer all winter long. Once or even twice a week would be great. I could get going any time around or after 5:30. I don't feel too comfortable getting out there alone in the dark and would love to find a group.

Earlier this year the person biking in front of me almost had a collision with a deer! And I've swerved around rabbits, psycho squirrels, groundhogs, etc. Early morning or dusk is prime critter time.

Good point.  So if you are able to do this, head east from Conshy towards Manayunk and avoid that strip in Norristown at night.  I heard some people were robbed there a while back.

Hi Christine! The trainer's not soo bad... Maybe you could bring your trainer over to my house sometime and we could suffer together....

It was definitely the plan to steer clear of Norristown! Hadn't thought about the critters. Oh well. The trainer is probably the way to go. All I need is the motivation. The holidays have not been helpful in that regard. Too many other things to do!
