Swim starts for 140.6 always mass start?

Subject: Swim starts for 140.6 always mass start?

I was trying to do research on both 70.3 and 140.6 races.  Are all 140.6 races mass swim starts, never age group waves?  And are all 70.3's usually wave starts only?  I am looking at mainly the larger races.  M-dot (looks like full=mass/half=wave) /rev3 (not clear on website)/ even Beach2Battleship (mass full/wave half).  Mainly checking for 140.6.

IMLOU is not a mass OR wave start.  You are sent off of a dock 2 or 3 people at a time every few seconds.  You can view the start on youtube (google IMLOU swim start).  It's really kind of fun, actually.

But, other than LOU, in my experience, most HIM's are wave starts and most IM's are mass starts.

The IMKY in Louisville is a time trial start for the age grouper. Not sure about the others. This is the only one I have been to.

You can always just start on the very back if you don't like the physical contact.

The IM NY/NJ says its a barge that you will start from, but not a mass start
