Does anyone have a solid, positive opinion of any iPhone apps out there that not only track your GPS location, but have some ability to share that (ideally, visually on a map with stats) to family and friends?

I can sign up for Runkeeper Elite and turn on live - but the reviews online aren't all that favorable.

Also have seen positive reviews of Endomondo . . .

Preferably, I would like an app that my wife can load on her phone that sync's up with my run, as I'd prefer that over her having to use her phone to load some not-mobile-friendly webpage.

If you want to go super simple and FREE, there is an app called "Find my Friends" for the iPhone.  You tell it which friends you want to share your info with, enable the tracking, and those friends see your phone's location on a map.

I use it as a safety feature when I'm on solo rides.  I can have someone checking in on me if I don't come back when I should and they can find me and if the dot is moving, they know I'm OK.

But it would be great if it were more full-featured such that it might show the standard set of workout stats along with location, like current speed and average speed, distance, HR...

MotionX GPS

It'll share with email, facebook or twitter.  Also in addition to sharing your entire route, you can have it send out waypoints on a time interval - for example, if you want friends to know where you are on a course.

The free version does everything the paid one does, except you can only keep one saved track at a time.

My friend uses endomondo and her "friends" can watch her run/ride and even type in encouragement which is played back over the speakers if she has her headphones plugged in.

Every time I leave for a bike ride, I enable "Find My Friends" and throw my iPhone in my bento box.  That way, my wife can always know where I am in case of an emergency.  Give both her and I some peace of mind.

I've used Glympse before on my iPhone. You basically send a link to the person(s) you want to track you, either by email or text msg. They can follow you in real-time through the site using the link that was sent to them by you or if they also have the Glympse app on their phone, they can track you in real-time through the app.
