Will a wetsuit be needed for this race?  Thanks! Sharon

I never wear mine for this.  Some people do.  It is always cold standing on the beach before hand, but it's only 500 yards and not usually too cold water.

I used mine last year and was fine.  I haven't heard the water temps this year yet but with the warmer weather we have been experiencing I would prepare for a Non-wetsuit race.  However, mine will be right near me until I find out.

Is there a practice swim on the course?

No, but there is a beach and a park and there are people there all the time.  They do not put the turn-around pontoon out until right before the race because they do not want people practicing without a lifeguard.  There is a roped off swim area though.  WEEDS WEEDS WEEDS!
