Total Time = 1h 20m 27s
Overall Rank = 13/117
Age Group = F30-39
Age Group Rank = 1/23
Pre-race routine:

This race was a little different in that the kids didn't come with us…
Both Trevor and I were racing and while I missed the fan club it did make the morning a little less chaotic.
Swim
  • 15m 8s
  • 750 meters
  • 02m / 100 meters
Comments:

This was the windiest swim I've ever done but it still went well. This has always been a weakness of mine, so I am happy with this time.

Loved the wetsuit strippers!
What would you do differently?:

Become a more confident swimmer… working on it.
Transition 1
  • 00m
Bike
  • 44m 6s
  • 23.4 kms
  • 31.84 km/hr
Comments:

Not a huge fan of looped courses as I still struggle to maintain aggressive cornering.
I was still however the fastest female cyclist out there today! That feels good…

This time includes both Transitions. My Garmin reads an average moving speed of 33.2kph.
What would you do differently?:

Need to practice faster cornering.
Transition 2
  • 00m
Run
  • 21m 14s
  • 5 kms
  • 04m 15s  min/km
Comments:

This went well. I NEED more strength training and hill work but am pretty comfortable with the 5km distance.

Could have pushed it a little harder with the amount of kick I had left for the end.
What would you do differently?:

Run harder!!!

and don't be a wimp on the hills...

I did get it on my Garmin… it was short at 4.66km. Hope this helps.

Well done - congrats on the age group win.  My Garmin measured the run distances as 4.62km.  Maybe being a wimp on the hills is good strategy.  One runner passed me on the hill on both laps but I got by them again on the downhill and finished just ahead of them.  I think I would have paid too heavy a price if I had tried to go faster on the uphills.

hey, thanks for the reply, I was pretty sure it was short.  So I am new to this site as of yesterday. Want to bump up to Olympic tri's so thought I should search out some advice and support. Is this what you posted your race info here a "blog" or a Log?  this is pretty confusing.... thanks Smile
