We really need the  rain, but this rain is cramping my training.  I have to change my schedule to swim in an indoor pool.  I can run in the rain.  I road my trainer for 30 minutes last night.

Do you ride in the rain.

Not typically, mainly because I don't like riding in any poor visability condition because I don't want to become a texas speedbump.  So my plans of a ride yesterday were thwarted.

Best time to pee on the bike... But seriously, it's good training for me for race day if it it raised at the race. I feel more confident with my handling skills when it's wet now (Bastrop was a bit damp), and don't worry so much about rain on race day. Yeah, it sucks, and I've ruined some great shirts doing it, but it just seems like just another aspect of training to me.

Djastroman, I'm making a mental note "do not draft Ironultrared".......

Seriously,  will this race be wet suit legal?  Getting into 60's at  night Kerrville is in a semi arrid area and it can get hot in the day time but cool off at night.  Very low humdity.  I plan to take a towel and dry off before the bike and wear dry clothes on the bike.  It should warm quickly.  I have a wet suit, will there be strippers?

I saw a nutritionist yesterday.  My diet is not good.  Recovery and controlling my sugar is now high on my training list.  This guy balks at french fries and ketchup as vegetables.  Forgot to ask if beer is a carb.

She's pretty courteous...on last week's ride she looked to her left to see where I was before she blew a snot rocket

I'm thinking it will be wetsuit legal, but who knows really.

Beer is definitely a carb and a good recovery food!!

Just to be clear, that was not a snot rocket.  It was spit.  If I tried to blow a snot rocket, I would probably have worn most of it for the rest of the ride.  And I was joking about peeing.

I'm guessing wetsuit legal with the temps the way they've been...  And beer is definitely a carb!

Okay - so back to the race...  Chili's?  Just north of T1, say about 6pm? Wildcat, Gomes, DJ (and your better half), will you be there?

I am going to check in around 100 and head back.  I did not get reservation to stay in Kerrville.  Too late now.   Thanks for the invite, but I will see you guys  pre- race day or in transition.

I know you just kidding about the bikeWink.  I still won't draft you if we ride together.  Just kidding.

BIG NEWS almost forgot.  I emailed the race director.  They took a water temp 75.  As of now the swim is wet suit legal.  So unless we have several days of 90-100degree weather we should be good for a wet suit race.  I am swimming in mine on Friday.

I might meet ya'll out there on Sunday.  What time/place to meet?  I'm either riding the course that sunday or the week after.

I am dreadfully sorry.  I didn't sign up for automatic notification on this thread and just now saw the messages on the course ride.  Did any of you guys ride with us?  There was a group from San Antonio and we took 10 from Austin.

We post a lot of rides, swims and runs on the meetup groups Austin Triathletes, Austin Runners and Austin Cyclists.

I am doing a bike tomorrow and run Sunday.  Swam today.  Then a light 30 min swim bike run next  week.  How are you slowing down.  Any advice.

Thanks Iron I printed the Athletes guide.

Yeah its time to begin taper week I guess.  I usually cut my volume down by about 50% or so, but keep the intensity.  Short but hard workouts.

I did a swim in my wetsuit.  Felt like a big tootsie roll.  Probably looked like one with a Blueseventy sign on the front.  Going to do another swim Monday.

I hope Iron can hold it until the bike........................................

Anyone notice the weather?  It looks like central texas has a chance of rain this weekend - mainly Saturday and diminishing Sunday.  Anyone heard what Kerrville specifically may get?  I have heard for the Austin area specifically.

On weather.com, they have a 30% chance of rain (isolated thunderstorms) on Friday, and 60% chance (scattered thunderstorms) on Saturday. No rain currently in the forecast for Sunday.

I didn't look for hourly forecast...still a little too early for that.

What I am doing, is cancelling our camping spot.   Between the rain and mosquitoes, we are not going to rough it.

Doing the sprint...not much will faze me.  Now, if I was doing the half, it would get more consideration.   Good luck to all!!
