Congratulations!

I plan on continuing.  My old streak was 50 something, easily beaten.

Thanks, guys!

Thursday - #501 - 2 miles, and then 90 minutes on the trainer

Went out last night for a few beers with buddies immediately following the trainer ride. At some point, I realized I had never eaten any dinner. Messed myself up pretty good due to that. Woke up on my friend's couch this morning, and wandered home. Rough day so far! lol Have a feeling tonight's run is going to suck.

Ha I've been there.  Two summers ago I went for a 157 mile bike ride and went to a local drinking festival after.  I had eaten and it was not pretty.  hope your run went well!

Great job Brad on reaching 500 days.

I still have not started a new streak, debating with myself whether to start one or not. I made it 15 days at one point but took the next day off. Not sure why it is so tough for me to start one again. I am having a few issues with my left IT band right now and probably being overly cautious about it. Any way I have a 50k one week from tomorrow.

Great job everyone on all your work.

#33 - 13.1 miles.

Am I the only one who runs half marathons on the treadmill for fun?

Crossed over 1300 miles for the year today as well.

Yes. I think you are.

I've done just over 20 miles on the treadmill. I'm not sure why I did it, but I remember watching Terminator 2 and it was distracting enough, but just barely. I try to only do my speedwork on the treadmill, and use it occasionally for recovery runs since it is a bit easier on the legs.

Congrats Justin on going 1300+ and also going 30 days, glad to see you sticking with it.

Congrats Brad on 500 days, next stop 2 years!

I've been taking it easy, running 4-7 miles per day all week and 2 of the last three days I've run absolutely pain free. I still feel some tenderness if I push on the problem spot on my knee, but I don't feel it running, and the same with the ankle. I must have rolled it at some point and didn't realize it during the 50, because it healed on pretty much the same timeline as a sprain.

#783- 2 mi recovery day.

I plan on going out for a longer run tomorrow. Its been 3+ weeks since the 50 and I'm feeling good and just want to get out and run. Nothing crazy, probably just 10-12.

I'd like to be 100% by the end of the month with about 40 mpw average, before I start my actual Boston/100 mile training.

Glad you are recovering ImSore, I bet you want to get out there.

I never could watch TV when on the treadmill, even 2+ hours on it.  I wish I would just suck it up more and run outside during the winter but it's just so icy and cold - hate it.  I just stick to the gym, I'm glad to be known as that crazy guy who is always on that treadmill running for hours staring at a blank screen .

#34 - 2.00 miles.
#35 - 5.51 miles.

Happy running.

#784- 3 mi, made it 1.5 miles from the house and I got hit with a pretty significant "gurgle" in my lower abdomen area and had to high-tail it home. It was a close call. Counted my blessings and called it a day.

#785- 10.5 mi - great day to run, not too cold yet. Happy not to have to deal with what you "northerners" do. Jan/Feb are relatively unpleasant, but the really bad days are few. Got sub-zero maybe twice last year and that is uncommon to begin with, and its usually not too bad with the ice and snow.

I just went back and read the Rules... it looks like its one run a day for 30 days... I cheated and didn't run on Sunday (because i rode my bike for 4 hours...) but made up for it with two runs today... I guess I'll start back at 2 tomorrow.

"Official" streak rules, outside of the original challenge guidelines, is one run per day of at least one mile. I've kept up the 2 mile streak, but if this streak continues, I probably may fall to the one mile standard at some point and not feel too guilty.

I feel like I am going to have to pick up the training soon. I've only swam once this month, and I'd rather not count back to know how long its been since I've ridden my bike.

I'm going to start a weight training program this coming week. I'm pretty sure me knee issue is from some muscle imbalance in my left leg, so I want to fix that, and I want to start building some leg strength overall to help with the challenges I've set myself up with next year. Also, all this endurance training over the past few years got my upper body too comparable to that of my 8 year old daughter, so I probably will add in some upper body work.
