Regular 1358 Jenison, MI | Subject: RE: 30 runs in 30 days - who's with us? Originally posted by MIKEWOODS Thanks. That 12:01AM run (it was actually 1:01AM in Michigan) was an interesting one, as I ran through an empty industrial park that was pretty creepy, honestly. The bigger part was that I had been taken down a bunch of beers throughout the day, starting with a huge pizza lunch and followed up by a pretty good steak dinner before hitting a sports bar for a few hours. I was surprised at the fact that I didn't want to puke during that run! Nice job Brad! I'm impressed with your dedication! I love the 12:01am run, that's dedication to your team and your hobby! This whole streak thing makes me look at things in different ways. I get a little stressed out a week or two before trips like that one, wondering how/when I am going to get my run in. I even think about it all too frequently during the day during those trips! Thankfully my buddies who I usually make these trips with understand the streak and probably wouldn't even let me miss it. |

While my streak isn't that long, the reason why I stopped last time was because of business trip. I don't travel much during the Winter/Summer, but do during the Spring/Fall. I have my first trip coming up at the end of February, again in March and two in April. They are all to big cities, and am staying in nice hotels so I know they will have a good gym. It just goes to show you what you will do when you have your priorities! Nice work! |

That place is way smaller than I remember it being. #322 - 1.09 - Exhausted and fresh out of the car from 4 hours on the road. #323 - 2.27 - Running on the golf course in the snow: "Isn't there a dip around here where water collects on the cart path? I'd better be ca--WAH!!" Thank goodness I didn't hit my head, but I'll be sore and purple for a few days. |

And MIKEWOODS, technically the "streak" doesn't have to end, but if you are going 30 for 30 by the original challenge rules then you start that over. There is no official governing body that I am aware of, but a streak is generally recognized by running at least 1 mile unassisted each day. |

1053 | Subject: RE: 30 runs in 30 days - who's with us? Originally posted by navbtcret Day 6 today, 3.3 miles. I will start a 15 week training schedule on Monday shooting for a sub 3:20 marathon on the 19th of April at the Athens Marathon in Athens, Ohio. I have not followed a training schedule for over two years due to racing all the time. I want to concentrate on getting faster at least the first part of the year. I want a sub 1:35 half this year too, I am signed up for one on the 30th of May. I may not getting the sub 1:35 there, it depends on my work schedule. If it changes I am going to 3 days at the fair in New Jersey in the middle of May. I will do the 72 hour event hoping to complete at least 240 miles in 72 hours. I'd say its possible but very ambitious (for the 240 miles/72 hours), good luck! I live in NJ so I'll check out 3 days at the fair (will depend on my work schedule), and see if I can work it into my training, maybe the 12 hour race. |

I did get out before midnight for day #16 but I totally forgot to run on day #17. I got up to start loading the U-Haul at 6am and didn't sit down until after midnight. No Worries though- a new streak has started, and I'm building my base miles for a late spring marathon. Nice work on the 300+ day streak! #5 -1.6 Miles |

I am hoping that my work schedule will change so I can run this event. My plans would be to run 100 miles day 1, 80 miles day 2 and hopefully 60 miles day 3. Planning on running 20 hours with a four hour break/nap and then 20 hours again with the same break and going for 24 straight to end it. At least that is what I am telling myself. I would love to run some laps with you there. Day 11, 14.3 miles |
