1053 | Subject: RE: 30 runs in 30 days - who's with us? For all you Michigan people, I would be loving the treadmill versus the alternative. I've had more single digit temps around here for longer than I can remember which you all would probably consider balmy. I can say that I haven't been hating my treadmill runs. #851- 4 mi #852- 6.2 mi #853- 12 mi slipping in the snow looking much like mrheathen (minus the snazzy hoodie) #854- 2 mi - considered going for 20 and topping my all time weekly mileage record, but went out with the family all day and got home late, finished up with a modest 62 mile week (I think my peak mileage week this year so far) #855- 10 mi progression with 2 miles at threshold, and 2 miles pushing a bit faster #856- 8 mi - was planned at easy pace but I ran about 20 sec/mi faster than plan. Sometimes I want to finish by a given time like right on the hour or half hour, and I will mentally calculate how fast I need to run to the second to finish at that exact time. I hope I'm not the only one that does that. |

1439 | Subject: RE: 30 runs in 30 days - who's with us? I bought a nice treadmill last year and have been wearing it out this winter, best investment I have made in a while. My PF is progressing slowly but I am increasing my mileage and speed a little. I am hoping it continues to get better and that I will be back at full strength in another couple of weeks. I am on day 7 today with 5 easy miles. |

Usually I never go for warranties but I felt like once I got the treadmill it would get some good use. I have two young kids, so unless I want to go out really early or really late sometimes the treadmill is a necessity. And my wife has pretty much been exclusively using it all winter. It's definitely racking up the miles this year. |

1053 | Subject: RE: 30 runs in 30 days - who's with us? #857- 13.1 miles on snow and ice covered trails. Did quite a bit of slipping, and ALOT of climbing, did a quick loop through the woods, then a bunch of repeats on a nice sized hill that gains 400ft over a mile. Only 35 minutes drive from my house. Its amazing what you can find if you look. Street lights were burnt out, it was windy. Lights were off in people's homes. It was a creepy run. |

Veteran 869 Stevens Point, Wisconsin | Subject: RE: 30 runs in 30 days - who's with us? Imsore - Great pictures! Your absolute right. Last summer fall I started to go to all the local county parks and state parks/forests (the more 'nature' ones) and have found some amazing hardly used trails. There are also dozens of them within a short drive. #101 - 2.00 Miles#102 - 3.00 Miles #103 - 5.05 Miles #104 - 5.20 Miles #105 - 6.20 Miles #107 - 3.22 Miles #108 - 8.26 Miles I think I FINALLY have shook off this cold that I have had. I think I lost 10 pounds in snot rockets . |

Long days at work, and beyond that, a couple of things planned on some of the weeknights have really limited what I could do. And additionally, my legs and feet have felt like junk during almost every one of my runs. Ugh. Hoping to get back on track this weekend. And...I love The Stick. I need to remind myself to use it more. |

286 , | Subject: RE: 30 runs in 30 days - who's with us? Friday, 4.51 miles and today, a shorter run because I lifted at the gym...2.75 miles. Skipped Thursday. Went out to dinner with friends. Willpower let me down that night. I should try to shift my runs for the mornings, if I know the evening isn't gonna work out. Good luck with your runs this weekend, everyone! Hats off to those of you who run in the really cold temps. |

1053 | Subject: RE: 30 runs in 30 days - who's with us? #858- 6.2 mi recovery #859- 18 mi #860- 8 mi mostly recovery pace...picked it up at the end #861- 8.2 mi - planned some sort of speedwork/tempo work, was feeling pretty stiff and that knee tendonitis is acting up again #862- 5 mi - did last two miles at 6:30 min/mi to sort of make up for yesterday, but really should have just taken it easy. Feel ok though. 71.5 mi last week. I will dial it back a bit this week and then go hard 3 weeks, hopefully in the 70-80mpw range, then taper 3 weeks, I probably could get away with a two week taper, I guess I'll see how it goes. I'm really going by my own plan this time. The basic weekly structure is 1 day strength/hills/trail (2-3 hours, may serve as long or mid-long run), 1 day long run (18-22 mi), 1 day tempo/speed, 1 day mid-long run (12-15 mi), then 3-4 days recovery. I do end up varying it up a bit, but I'm hoping to more or less stick to this. |

1439 | Subject: RE: 30 runs in 30 days - who's with us? Day 12, 3.2 miles. The PF is still bothering me, it has kind stopped getting any better but it is not really getting any worse. I am a little leery of increasing my pace and mileage too much but will try for a little more speed and distance this week. Maybe one day faster and the next slower but longer to see how that goes. Still treating it very aggressively. |
