Swim
  • 37m 46s
  • 1640 yards
  • 02m 18s / 100 yards
What would you do differently?:

I've got to get goggles on correctly...keep having race trouble with water leaks.
Transition 1
  • 05m 50s
Comments:

had trouble getting suit off, but also had to get a jacket on because it was cold. Plus long fingered gloves and ear muffs were necessary to keep warm on the long ride. This all took longer than mynormal transition
What would you do differently?:

not sure how I could have sped this one up with all the extra gear I needed
Bike
  • 1h 43m 15s
  • 24.85 miles
  • 14.44 mile/hr
Transition 2
  • 05m 8s
Comments:

very sore and stiff and cold. My feet were completely numb due to the cold air. I felt okay in the core, hands were warm enough, ears okay. But my whole feet felt like stumps.
Put those chemical feet warmers in my shoes before I took off. they bunched up a little but flattened out during the run. This helped my toes to warm up and got me started running sooner. Had to walk out.
What would you do differently?:

put the feet warmers in my shoes for the ride
Run
  • 1h 26m 39s
  • 6.21 miles
  • 13m 57s  min/mile
Comments:

faster than last tri, felt good about my pace despite the hilly course
Post race
Warm down:

very cold

What limited your ability to perform faster:

hilly and very cold

water was murky some current and chop. had a hard time spotting on first leg, my goggle on right filled up. that's the eye that had the contact so I had to stop and fix it. Kept going right...buoys on the left so I couldn't spot easily.

Performance:
very hilly course...long slow rides up, some very rough patches
Wind: Cross-winds
Course: short trip around the neighborhood, then long ride up John King road and back then through the neighborhood. rented a bike. My inner thighs started to hurt on first 10, ached a lot throughout. Probably due to incorrect fit on rented bike. the shop just fit the seat to me, no other adjustments were made. I did use the aero bars, brought my own and had them installed for the race. really glad I had them.
