Any and all comers who would like to go for the gusto and pledge over 100 miles running for the month of July.

For those in the heat of the Fall mary. training this should be a joke. So I'd expect some big pledges from those people.

I'm in for ......... drum roll please ....... 150 miles

(However if I don't do in the 170 range than I'm not following the plan correctly. I'm just planning in some buffer room for life's unexpectancies).

Oh heck, I'll go 150, too. Can't get upstaged like that, don't you know.

My plan calls for 126 miles but I'm in for...

115 miles

I had a "Here's your sign" moment when I got my training plan for the rest of the summer a couple weeks ago. I was looking through it and noticed runs ramping up- 16, 18, 20 miles and thought to myself 'It looks like I'm training for a marathon- I don't have a fall marathon on the schedule.' Umm, that little experience on Sept 10th ends w/ a marathon- imagine that.

I'm in for 125!

Normally this wouldn't be a big deal as running was all I was doing.  My monthly average for 2006 has been 125 miles per month, but I am now adding concentrated biking and swimming for my Fall HIM.  So, my goal is to keep my run miles up for MCM while emphasizing the other 2 disciplines of this sport called TRIathlon for Delaware Diamondman in September.

That can only mean one thing - you are following Pfitzinger.  Either he is a little too intense for me or I don't have the guts to follow his insane plan.  Good luck to you.  People who follow his plan do show great results!  There is no doubt you will be prepared come race day.

Yup! And I'm only doing the "less than 55 a week" plan. I can't imagine those poor saps who try to do the 90+ a week plan. No thanks!!!

I used Hal Higdon's Int. 1 plan last year and was prepared, but I made poor race day choices which screwed up the race for me. So this year I'm doing something a little different.

I'll say that I am in here as well, my mileage has been low due to an achillies problem, but I have brought it along over the last couple of weeks and am ready to start hitting it again. Plus I have planned lots of short runs to keep building the durability.

I sound like a wuss only doing 105 miles, but I am also in on the 400 miles for July.  This is going to be a big month for me since it will be more than I have done in either sport.  I have the 4th of July week off from work, so I am counting on putting in some serious workout time!   Big miles, here I come!

I don't consider myself a big wuss for doing only 100 miles...I haven't done 100 miles in a month to date though I have been building up my mileage slowly. If I were to pledge to do any more than 100 miles it would be crazy and I might injure myself. I think it is all individual.

I just read your race report from Baltimore. I had the exact same race in Buffalo last month.  Almost identical first and second half splits.  I was using Hal's Int 2 plan and it was working until Buffalo.  I took my marathon time from 4:26 -> 3:36 in 11 months.  As I am really concentrating on tri's now, I am just going to 'wing' my next few marathons with long runs according to Hal's plan.

Put me down for a 100, though secretly I am shooting for 120.  Havent done this mileage in a while and gotta work on my terrible swim, so gonna set the bar where I dont have to kill my time in the pool.
