Subject: Looking for tri bike 56cm in $700 range
I'm new to triathlons (2 sprints last year and would like to prepare for Olympic distance next), looking to upgrade from Giant road bike to a race-ready tri bike I can afford. I'm 6'1" and 180lbs, live in Delaware. Figure I'll need to invest in a pro fitting after purchase, and possibly accessories like pedals if not included, which is how I've come to above price. Appreciate any ideas or suggestions!

give slowtwitch a try in tandem. its a gr8 website for that kind of stuff.  

at 6'1" i would look for a LG (56-58) or XL (58-60) frame bike,

I have a L (56) 2008 Specialized Transition Comp that I'm going to be selling. I'll probably be looking for a little over your listed range ($1000 or so) but send me a PM with your email address if you want pics. I could always remove some components to lower the cost if you have some things already.

Found a nice Cervelo P1 slightly above range but very good shape plus pedals and upgraded brakes! Thanks to all for the contributions and insights!

I have a 57cm Orbea bike with full shimano ultegra components, including pedals, like new continental tires/tubes. Great condition!  Paid $2200+ plus $175+ for tires/tubes.  Asking $1600 or best reasonable offer!  Laughing

Maybe check out your local Specialized dealer.  They have the 2012 models on close-out-I picked up a Transition Elite for $1,000.
