Subject: RE: Strava- How do I add distance? Here's what I do - I admit, it's completely kludgy, but it works.
1. Upload the Garmin file from your trainer ride/treadmill run. It will get you the time and the heart rate, but there is no way to add distance
2. Manually add another workout with the same start time, add the distance but no time.
This way, your totals (if you care about it for club standings, like I do ) will have the total time spent and the total distance covered. The # of workouts will be too high, but I don't care as much about that as I do the time or the duration.
BTW, I use a footpod when I run on the treadmill. Not that expensive, and totally captures distance. Also useful for running outside, as it keeps track of your cadence while running (doesn't hurt to have more data ).
The spin bikes at my gym have ANT+ sensors, but it's hit or miss. Typically, I only get them to sync to my Garmin when I'm the first one in the room. |
