Subject: Wired Powertap head question

Just recently acquired a new head unit for my wired PT system. The old unit was going through a battery a week.

However when I set the computer to "find" it will not pick up the h/r strap. Doesn't even show the search animation.

Is there another step I'm missing or (I hope not) is the strap only compatible with the original set up?

It's been too long since I had the wired one to remember the step by step... but I know I used my Garmin HR strap with it, so it's not proprietary. Shoot an email to Cycleops for a step by step, they have pretty rock solid customer support.

Thanks for the reply. I guess customer support is dependent on location. The reason I ended up buying a new head is because I couldn't get a reply from Cycleops for the old one.

Right now I am still waiting for a reply on this issue.

Did you read the manual? I remember having problems with that, I think you need to do an extra setup to make it work. Those are coded HR straps so you might have to give the specific number.

Manual? What's that? So I went back and read the manual and lo and behold the answer was there. Thanks for pointing out the obvious.
