Subject: Becoming a Triathlete!!!!
I am a triathlete in the making. I have always wanted to do a triathlon and become a triathlete and one day an Ironman. But I have always been lazy when it comes to training, I'd start do good for a week or two and then find a reason to stop. A couple of months ago I went to the doctor got weighed in and I was almost 200 pounds. I got home popped in my Kona tape and decieded it was time for a change, I found a trianing schedule and triathon and signed up for not 1 but 3. I have been training for 2 months straight now 6 days a week. Last week I took 4 days off because my body was starting to tell me that I was overtraining. I feel better today. Today I weighed myself at the gym and I have lost 20 pounds. My triathlon is on Aug 27, so I still have 6 weeks to go. I won't be the fastest, I can do all the distances just not fast, but I sure as hell will finish if it kills me. My reward for the completing 3 triathlons is a new road/tri bike of my choice. It will be my Christmas present. Needless to say. I'm getting that bike. I have not become a triathlete yet but take a lot of pride in saying that I will become one. BTers have helped me in more ways that I can count, and I hope to meet some of you in future races. Thanks BTers you are the best.

Congratulations on your weight loss and steady training. Races are a large factor in my motivation. Doesn't matter that I'm not vying for an age group win, but because they are milestones, easily measured goals accomplished. KOKO (Keep on keeping on.)

Awesome!  It sounds like you are very smart and healthy in your approach to your training by taking a short break when your body told you that it needed the rest.

By the way, the bike reward is a brilliant idea.
