Since you have never been to Denver I would suggest going to lodo.  Maybe go to a Rockies game if you like baseball, I think they are playing SF this weekend.  Coors Field is located in lodo and there are many sports bars, restaurants, clubs, etc.  If yu have transportation you need to head to the mountains or foothills.  Golden and evergreen arer just minutes from Denver and there are many trails to check out...maybe check out Red Rocks.  It's a cool amphitheater and there are some nice trails to hike around there.  If you do go to Golden, check out the breweries...and no, not coors.  Golden City Brewery, and CannonBall Creek...look them up.

You've timed this trip right as a couple weeks ago we had cold, snow and rain.  This week we are looking to be in the 80s!

If you feel like driving and skiing ABasin is still open and lift tickets are ~$50 a day.  Boulder is always a good fun trek - hike up to the flatirons or go for a bike ride.

If you want to try some stuff you can't normally get, go to the Buckhorn Exchange.  at 1000 Osage.  They have all kinds of game and you can get your favorite, rocky mtn oysters.

I used to routinely go to the Morrison Inn in you guessed it, Morrison.  Just west of Denver/Lakewood.

For late nite/drunk grub?  Pete's kitchen on Colfax, but mind the hookers.

Oh yeah, the Wazee Supper club for amazing pizza.

Get some drinks at the Cruise Room at the Oxford Hotel..

Just Yelp for some amazing breakfast places downtown too.

Dude, I'm jealous.  So many cool spots and great things to do.  I could go back for an entire summer and not run out.  I need to move back but the old ball and chains says nyet.

Come on the food is not the best tastes like tv dinners, but the atmosphere is just plain cool - I still love visiting it when I return home - I just try not to eat the food!

You made some great other points though!

Agree with rayd

If you are in the Lodo area the flagship REI is pretty cool.

I can spend half the day at REI and watching the kayakers on the Platte...  Go for a long run up and down Cherry Creek and check out the scenery of the people variety.

We'll be up there next weekend for about 4 days for graduations and BolderBoulder.  Looking forward to trying some of the new Diners Drive-ins & Dives spots and running the "party with a race thrown in".

The Highlands just over the S. Platte has some good bars & restaurants - we like Root Down.  If you're going to REI make sure you stop in at My Brother's Bar.

If you go to Casa Bonita beware Black Barts cave.  More sopapillas please!

I like the "Delectable Egg" I think it is for breakfast in the city.  If you don't think you'll be back anytime soon it's worth it to head out to the mountains just to check it all out.  Keystone runs gondola's all year long so for a few bucks you can ride up, check out some MTB and walk around or go down the road a few miles to A-basin.  Couple good places to eat in Frisco and Silverthorne too.  Breckenridge is another 15 minutes down the highway and they have a pretty cool little town to walk around and grab some drinks or food.  I agree with what everyone else said about Denver proper too.  I lived up in the mountains so I don't have as much of an opinion down there.

Just be ware that if you're in a good seeded heat the partiers are not up yet or just setting up.  This year for the first time I am running with a friend in a non-qualified wave so I can see all of the fun.  I'm hoping to get some good slip n' slide action in if they're still doing that.   When you get onto Walnut if you want bacon hang right.  If you're close to dry heaving hang left and stay away from the free bacon.

You don't go to Casa Bonita for the food. You go because everything else about it is awesome.

I had a blast in CO! Spent most of my time around the Broomfield area but hung out in Boulder and Golden for a bit. Even got to meet up with a BTer for a buffalo burger and a beer.

Good times.
