Subject: Open water swimming groups?
I just started training for the NJ State Triathlon, and I was hoping to find a group that meets for open water swimming over the summer. I live in Morris County, but I have family in Monmouth and visit them on weekends fairly often. Does anyone know of any semi-organized swims that aren't races or larger events? My only open water experience was in the one race I did in 2010, and it would be nice to get practice outside of the pool. Thanks!

There are a group of us that swim in Peddie Lake in Hightstown most Friday nights. Our next swim is May 31st at 5:30 p.m. It's pretty low-key and you can swim the course at your own pace as many times as you like. You can find more details on Facebook on the Hightstown Triathlon page! Maybe we'll see you one Friday!

Stroke after stroke, my pace was pulling me out into the middle of the lake quickly. The cover seemed to be getting thicker. But still in the distance, the little boathouse was my lighthouse.
