Been getting what feels like sea sickness in the water toward the end of longer workout days, usually when I get more than 2000yds. most of my workouts are ladder sets going up to either 400 or 500 yds before working back down the line. Sometimes it's so bad I have to cut the sets short and exit the water. I eat some crystallized ginger a few minutes before jumping in. Am I not eating enough of it? Anything else to help with this?

You might be getting water in your ears as that can through your equilibrium off. If that is the case, you might consider ear plugs. Otherwise, if it isn't the water, all you can do is keep practicing in OW and maybe try one of the seasick wristbands. Some people just can't overcome seasickness because of the way their inner ear is built. When we had the HIM down here in Key West in January, then water was extremely rough (3 to 4 foot seas) an quite of few people got really sick to the point of throwing up (a few BT'rs). So, if it makes you feel any better, you are not alone.

Try swimming with earplugs a couple times before you start getting fancy with remedies.

I first decided I was going to "do" a triathlon in 1994. It wasn't until 13 years later, in 2007 that I actually did. Why did it take me 13 years to get to the starting line? The swim!

Many people in the triathlon world think they need to just emulate Ian Thorpe to have a faster time, or have a similar stroke to Michael Phelps to cruise through the swim. Unfortunately...
