I'll be there!

I'll be there. But I am a land mammal (duathlon).

I am out.  My hometown race and everything.  But the family vacation had to be moved up and the Tinman was a casualty.  Oh well, my support team deserves their vacation!  Hope everyone has a good race.  Looks like the heat has moved in for the week.

If I'm cleared to race (or I decide on my own) I plan on doing the KC Corporate Challenge Tri. Was in medal contention until just recently...

Planning on the short course, although there's a small chance a family thing may trump the race.

In for the short course

Signed up for the short course, but I'm feeling adventurous and considering seeing if I can upgrade to the long course option.

ALWAYS bring your wetsuit.

I would be surprised if it was not wetsuit legal. I haven't heard any temps, but it was wetsuit legal last year and if I remember correctly it was much warmer in the month prior to the race. Even so, I would guess the warm weather this week has brought the temp up a fair bit.

Maybe we can get Jayhox to head down there and stick his toe in the water, since he's not racing it this year.

Is camping the way to go for this one?

I never have, but the campgrounds are incredibly close and right along both the long and short course runs.

From what I'm seeing, the forecast looks pretty clear. Too say I'm excited is an understatement. Finally ready to knock the rust off from the winter.

How did everyone do?  Race reports!!!!

It was a rough day at the office for me. My swim was below expectations, my bike was only 'ok' (Ave 19.5mph but expected to be 20 or higher). I melted down on the run. I'm a slow runner but this was by far my worst run ever.

I'll do a full race report tomorrow (because I love doing those, but won't love this one). I've got a lot of questions in my mind right now and have two weeks to start figuring stuff out before 5150 in St. Louis. Pretty frustrated. Hopefully I can get some feedback here that will help... But overall fitness has to improve.

I did see that m.A. Did a great job and won his age group. Congrats! Also there was some 16 yr old girl that ripped the short course up. Part of a large family of triathletes. She has a 13 yr old brother that did very well too.

Let me guess, 16 year old girl was a Smith...

And her mom was the second overall place female.

I'll have a race report up later this week, but I will say that after changing from short to long course that the 7.75 mile run is not to be treated lightly, especially in that humidity and heat.
