Pre-race routine:

Ate a banana then drove 30 minutes to the race site.

Swam about 5-10 minutes to loosen up and walked around a bit.

Tough swim! Only my second OWS and it showed. According to Garmin I swam about 550 meters due to my zig zagging.
What would you do differently?:

Swim slower to start out. I get too anxious and nervous about coming in last that I start out too fast and my breathing is bad.

I actually felt good doing this ride, but my time didn't show it. The bridge took a lot out of me going up it. I tried to concentrate on keeping my cadence up, but not sure how I did on that.

I quickly browsed an article in Men's Health that talked about doing a triathlon, and how it wasn't really that hard. With a "tsk!" I quickly turned the page while thinking, "Yeah, right!"
