Anyone out there using a repair stand on their newer Cervelo P3 with the aero carbon seatpost?  I want to purchase a repair stand, but prefer the idea of a traditional seatpost clamp stand over the type that involves removal of the front tire and attachment to the bottom bracket.  I guess I just want to know, 1) Whether the clamps on the stands out there will work with the unique shape of the aero seatpost and, 2) Just how risky is this type of connection to damaging the carbon seatpost?

There are stands that will allow you to clamp on an aero seat post, but honestly why would you want to? The biggest benefit of a stand where you lock the front fork and support the bottom bracket is the stability. Makes it MUCH easier to work on the bike.

You get much better leverage to remove bottom brackets and pedals with a repair stand that clamps onto the fork or rear dropout. With a repair stand that gabs the seat post, you may have to remove the saddlebag depending how much of the seatpost is left for grabbing.

We will take a peek into the lowly saddlebag to see what needs to be in there in case of emergency. Much of this may be common sense, some might surprise you, and some are simply just my opinion.

One procedure for changing a tire that you might learn from, but certainly don't want to follow precisely!
