Congrats on the 100!!! I could maybe to that in oh - 35 days........ to do it in less than 1 - amazing.

As for me this month, I missed 2 long runs and all of last week. We shall see how the rest of the month goes. The ambitions I had for the races next month are long gone. Almost doing them just to complete now (Ok I never toe the line that way at races I actually pay for - but it is how I feel right now)

Actually it was 21 hours 32 minutes and 12 seconds, my typing skill are worse than my running. Thank you all for the kind words, now to head out and get a couple of miles in today.

I am in awe! Congratulations seems such a weak word for that kind of accomplishment.

So I managed to get out today for a run of 2 miles the day after finishing the 100 miler. I am on a running streak as well and today is day 635 in row for me of running at least one mile every day. There have been very few days that I have run 2 miles or less during the streak though. My first mile was over 13 minutes and did not feel like I was running so the second one came in at a blazing 11:34, not fast but at least it felt like I was running.

Some is always better than none! I managed to get out for an easy 6km run this morning, although it was pretty chilly with a good frost on the ground. Winter is meant to be over here! It seems we always get a last blast of cold southerlies at the end of August, hopefully that means the weather (and the water) will be warming up soonSmile.

I just upped my goal to 120. I think I'll barely miss it but setting my goal for something like 117 would offend my math sensibilities.

Creativity at it's best. I sometimes do that for my hair appt. My stylist cringed one day when I got my hair cut and then put on a toboggan to run home.

How is everyone doing. Are you going to make your goal. I was not sure if I would after I finished the 100 miler but I did have a good week this week while recovering from the Ultra last weekend. I manage to get in 50.23 miles this week. I have a marathon this coming Sunday.

lol - I don't know if i'd do that...it would probably offend my stylists sensibilities...they always like girlie-fying my hair when I get it done...they find it hard to believe that I don't use mousse and gel and blowdry it etc...on the bright side, my chiro got a really good adjustment because my muscles were nice and warm (although a tad sweaty)...haha

can you donate some of your miles to me? lol! I set my goal at a modest 35miles, thinking that would be easy and i'm still only half-way through...this month should have been a heavy month training wise and I totally slacked off

I'm not going to make my goal, but I have been getting more rides and strength sessions in so I'm not too frustrated with myself. The challenge has helped with my wider goal of getting out of bed in the morning and out for some training.Smile

POW, my head just exploded thinking about prime numbers. 117 was just a quick guess on what I thought I'd be at for the month. But because of cleaning, painting, and repairing a rental this weekend, I won't make my new goal because I couldn't get my long run in. Ah well, I'll still try. 5 more days........

117 isn't prime but 101, 103, 107, 109 and 113 are if hitting a prime number is a goal :-)

I actually had to figure out what else 117 was divisible by...lol!

ETA - 2.4 last night...if I hit all my running training goals this week, I might scrape by...

Heh! I had to break out the calculator!  (it is 39 FYI).

I am no where near my goals BUT

I did do a race that I was dreading and did ok. So, in my book, that is way more of a win than getting my run on. HOWEVER... the best would have been to get my run on AND do the race. There is always room for improvement

I've got to say that I've been laughing my butt off about this. When i increased my goal, I just wanted to push myself past the orig 100 miles but then I wanted it to be rounded up by 10s. So even though I thought I might land around 112 to 118, I rounded up to 120. Then Scott brings up prime numbers and then Mike calculated prime numbers for us. I'm just dying laughing. Who thinks we should get Mike to keep listing prime numbers? Or maybe, maybe Mike should just plank instead of calculating prime numbers. {wink to Mike. I told you that nagging is a lost art.}

Austhokie, come on, you can do it!

Robin, good job on doing the race!!!

Now there's a new way of passing time while running/planking/riding long distance....how many prime numbers can you calculate and remember as you work out? Exercise for the mind and body, I like it!

haha - my poor brain...I probably wouldn't get too far...but have me calculate surge rules for ships underway and approaching other ships, or 3 minute rules (certain speeds and distance travelled in 3 minutes) and i'd be good

my plan to run got way-laid by the dog last night and an unplanned trip to the vet - got home to find out that he had basically licked pat of his paws raw (we've been dealing with a fungal thing, that went in conjunction with low thyroid levels) - so walk-in trip to the vet, only 1 vet on duty (they were almost done for the day) - and it was 9pm before I got home

so that run went to the dogs. heh!

I would not get far at all with the prime numbers. I can calculate clean up levels for hazardous waste. Calulating surge rules sounds cool, but I have no idea what that is!  I'll just plank with Mike!!!
