It took them this long to publish this?! I've been writing about it for years! Kellogg's Pop Tarts, where's my sponsorship?

A lot of pro triathletes actually have them for pre-race breakfast ... James Cunnama, for one, and Chris Lieto likes them too.

Interesting. I didn't realize pop tarts were food at all.

Stop it. You're making me cry. And tempting me to cave in at 11pm.

I used to love Pop Tarts for breakfast. You can literally eat them on the way to work! I switched to eating cereal because someone convinced me Pop Tarts were unhealthy. I knew there were other people that love those things!

These guys are late to the party.  Strawberry frosted PT's have been a staple for me for the last twenty years.

Don't know if they're good for you or not but I love eating them. Sometimes it's my afternoon snack.

Had 2 Brown sugar and cinamons before this mornings track workout. Mind you, it was only 30-40 minutes prior. Very good and digest great for me for whether Im S/B/R.

Love the new flavor Peanut Butter ones. Toast them a touch and taste just like a freshly baked peanut butter cookie.

My coach told me to drop Poptarts from my diet. Those be fighting words. I told him he will be dropped before my poptarts.

Funny that this is a thread today. I occasionally eat 2 for breakfast and I did today (Brown sugar cinnamon of course) before my long ride. I actually felt a little guilty eating them until I happily sat down to read this thread.

X2. Processed and formed sawdust with HFCS filling and icing. You're better off eating the wrapper. It's tastier too.

Cool

Clearly the voice of crusty experience ... hey, I'm not judging, you can do whatever you want with wrappers ...

A friend of mine who does tri's all the time would eat a box of pop tarts in class almost every night. He swore by them as a recovery food.

Is this thread just trying to revive the abandoned pop tart threads?

And I might have to try one on my next long ride.

I recently just ran a 5 mile race, and in the last 100 meters I was sprinting to pass someone and I felt a "pop" in my left arch. Could I have strained it? What is your advice for healing?

I went into the pool area (as this was a pool swim) and got body marked. That's when it hit me that I was there to race - this was not a clinic.

As every veteran athlete can attest, a non-existent or ill planned ‘race meal plan’ will leave you falling far short of your goals or even worse, in the medical tent.

You know what you should eat. Yet you just don’t want to. Yuck—whole wheat bread, bran cereal, oatmeal, skim milk, spinach, fish, fruit for snacks and desserts.
