Subject: groups in Dallas?
Hi all, I'm new to tri's and am wanting to get together for training since I don't know anyone else in the area I figured a club would be the way to go. From looking online everything that's listed in the Dallas area seems to actually be in McKinney, Plano, Colony area. Are there any groups in the Dallas proper area? I'm moving to Knox Henderson area next week and would like to try and find something or some people closer than Plano to start training with.

Thanks

Ryan

Have you looked at Fit 2 Train? Or look at Fit Trac (Track?). I think Play Tri MIGHT do stuff in the Dallas area. Not sure.

Thanks Karen I'll check them out. I didn't realize that play tri had a Dallas location too! I think having the extra push of group workouts of coaching will help me get over my non running

I have just joined DFW Tri Club they have a bunch of coached workouts all over DFW some are in the Dallas area,

Look at the calender for workouts and locations

So far I have done a couple of swim workouts with them and I have enjoyed it. They have pushed me out of teh comfort zone that I have been stuck in for abit with some drills that I never would of tried. Regular open water swim every Saturday followed up by a bike ride

If your looking for a strickly running group then check out White Rock Running Co op

Another great group of people and best part is its free

Did you find a group Ryan? Playtri is on Mockingbird and Abrams- not too bad of a drive from Knox Henderson area. They have a training facility/shop there and definitely train from that location too!

Second vote for teamtridaily.com. The coaches are excellent. Highly recommend Jeanne Jones if you can get her.

I haven't found a group yet, things got a little crazy here with moving and my work schedule but I am gonna go check out playtri this week and hopefully get in contact with the other group in the coming weeks.

I picked up a really nice Look frame and am working on building that up right now too! This stuff is way more involved than I knew

I highly recommend DFW Tri Club. Lots of group workouts to attend every week... I'm way better having been a member of the club for the past year.

Let me know when you're planning to attend and I'll be sure to go and introduce you to the other members.

I hit a hiccup in my bike build and decided to propose and spend all my money for the build on a ring. Finally getting back on track to having cash to get the bike put together then it is time to get serious and find a club and start training!

Any places to find great deals? I basically need everything except I have the frame, seat post and bars!

The most valuable thing you can do for your endurance training is to schedule a weekly 2-4hr long ride from now until the end of time. Simply make this “what you do” every Saturday or Sunday morning.

Individuals are just that, individuals and need individual programs. However, with a group the size of yours, it may be difficult for your coaches to do 25 individual workouts.

The start of the race I had the jitters. I was watching the other age groups start as they seeded the swim with over 1000 participants.
